Volunteer With us
Be part of the magic behind meaningful films. By volunteering with our film nonprofit, you’ll help amplify powerful stories, support emerging voices, and make a real impact in your community. We’re especially seeking folks with industry experience as well as those interested in mentoring and working with middle and high school students. We proudly encourage volunteers from all backgrounds and identities—diverse perspectives make our work stronger and our stories more powerful. Time commitments vary based on role and availability, and filling out our volunteer form will help us place you where your skills and interests can shine. Script Submissions
The COOL Cooperative seeks submissions for a live-action narrative short film to be produced during our 4-week summer camp filmmaking experience.
Guidelines: Short film under 20 minutes, rated PG, and producible within the 4-week camp, including 5 filming days and 2 possible pick-up days. Mature topics (drug use, murder, abuse, sexual content) must be off-screen and handled sensitively.
Ideal Partner: We prefer a flexible, collaborative writer-director (or writer open to close director alignment) who is passionate about teaching young people, creative within constraints, and committed to the film's festival/distribution life. Must have a clear vision but be open to the educational production process.
We Provide: Full support, including covered production costs (equipment, crew, locations, logistics), an educational production environment with industry professionals, a committed student team, and post-production assistance.

Our students span all ages and skill levels, and they need your industry insight to turn their passion into a career. Whether you’re interested in a one-time workshop or a recurring masterclass, help us provide a comprehensive, 360-degree education by sharing the wisdom you’ve gained on set.
Equipment Rentals
Fuel your vision while supporting ours. We invite local filmmakers, students, and educators to utilize our professional gear locker for your next production, with every rental fee going directly toward funding our upcoming student projects. To support the incredible work happening in our local schools, we offer exclusive, specially-priced rental rates for teachers in the New Orleans community. Whether you’re a student finishing a thesis or an educator leading a classroom shoot, renting from us means you’re getting the tools you need while investing in the future of NOLA cinema.
