Kathryn Bancroft

Education Coordinator

As the Education Coordinator, Kathryn manages all aspects of programming relating to curriculum and in-school education. Overseeing the COOL academy subscription programs, designing curriculum, scheduling in-school visits for COOL fellows, and teaching classes, Kathryn ensures our school outreach runs smoothly and our educational materials are high- quality. She also acts as Camp Director during the COOL Summer Camp and holds the office title of “Punctuation Princess”. She can usually be found writing scripts and puppeteering the COOL mascot, Benji.

Kathryn’s passion for education and youth programming began while working at the Louisiana Lions Camp, a summer camp for differently abled youth. There she saw the impact and joy quality programming could bring when done well.

She received her bachelors in Musical Theatre from NSU and worked as an English and Social Studies teacher for three years before coming to the COOL Cooperative. In her three years with the COOL she has continued to teach, learn, write, and play with puppets which is, frankly, a dream come true. Outside of work, (in a stunning show of predictability) she’s teaching, learning, writing, and playing with puppets.
